Letter to families
Dear Gossamer Grove Families,
We are thrilled to share some exciting news: the Norris School District is moving forward with plans to build our fifth elementary school, right in the Gossamer Grove neighborhood.
The District has officially completed the purchase of the property for the new school on Cobble Creek Drive. The project has received approval from the Division of the State Architect (DSA), ensuring the school site meets California's rigorous standards for accessibility, structural safety, and building code requirements. Our goal is to welcome students to this brand-new TK–6th grade neighborhood school in August 2028, pending the successful completion of construction and no unforeseen project delays.
As we move into the next phase of this project, families can expect to see activity at the site beginning soon. Early construction activities will include site preparation, grading, underground utility work, and other necessary work.
Over the coming months, we will be sharing more information as plans continue to take shape, including updates regarding:
- The new school's name
- District boundaries and student attendance areas
- Transportation and arrival/dismissal plans
- School programs and opportunities
- And much more!
We are also creating a dedicated section on the Norris School District website where families will be able to find project updates, planning information, and other important announcements all in one place.
This is an incredible milestone for the Norris School District and for the growing Gossamer Grove community. We are elated to bring a new neighborhood school to this community and look forward to creating a beautiful, welcoming campus where generations of students will learn, grow, and thrive. We look forward to keeping you informed every step of the way.
Much appreciated,
This letter is going home to Gossamer Grove families.
